Marble & Feathers

STRANGE

Strange - it can be hard to feel so good
So hard to stand the happiness
Strange - that this sense of feeling right
Is threatened by the fright
That flow will turn to fight in me

Strange - that when you hold me in your arms
I’m not the one I use to be
Strange - that everything I knew
Is changing now when you
Are doing what you do to me

And say, can the truth really be so plain
That love is harder to stand than the pain
And this hysterical feeling of being insane
Is a natural part of the game?
And if it’s so, then what about the wonderful things that they say
Of love being able to carry away
All my worry and doubt at each time of the day
Could it be another illusion

Strange - though I’m supposed to feel secure
This tension grows inside of me
Strange - that this sense of being aware
It never lets me dare
To give up all the scare in me

Strange - that getting what I want
Creates this kind of doubt in me
Strange - that this sense of coming home
Is leaving me alone
And bringing up the moan in me

And say, can the truth really be so plain
That love is harder to stand than the pain
And this hysterical feeling of being insane
Is a natural part of the game?
And if it’s so, then what about the wonderful things that they say
Of love being able to carry away
All my worry and doubt at each time of the day
Could it be another illusion
Could I make another conclusion
Should I really look for the light
Deep down inside this good old heart of mine?
